The difference between the units is the linear stroke length that is offered by each unit. The 400MM offers 400mm/15.75 in. of linear travel while the 500MM offers 500mm/19.6 in. of linear travel.
The units both have equivalent strength and should be chosen based only upon the length of the gate in most normal use cases.
Yes. Although we do not sell solar components, the system can be powered by solar components.
Components needed include:
12V 50W or Larger Wattage Solar Panel
12v 20A Solar Charge Controller
12V 30AH or Larger Capacity Battery Battery
The transformer included with the system is a 110V to 16VAC transformer. To operate using 220V, a 220V to 16VAC transformer would be required.
The system will work in both pull to open and push to open configurations out of the box. There are no additional required pieces of hardware for a push to open vs pull to open configuration.an answer to this item.
The package includes leads off of the actuators. For secondary sides on double gate packages, you will need to extend the leads to the main control board side. We recommend using 14AWG direct burial to extend the leads. For extending the leads of the wired keypad, we recommend using CAT5 or similar wiring to extend those leads.
A gate stop can be used but is not required for the system. The gate open/close positions are obtained by adjustments to the bracket geometry and the fully extended/retracted stroke of the gate arms.
The control board does include anti-crash features. The opener has a stop and auto-reverse upon contact with an object. The sensitivity of this feature is not adjustable and is preset. The IR Beams that are included with specific package sets also act as a safety feature detecting any obstructions in the gate's path.
The control board also includes an auto-close feature that can be set to either 15, 30, or 60 seconds, or disabled completely
No. The system will not operate from built-in remote systems in vehicles. The system may be able to operate utilizing these systems with a third-party remote receiver that will work with both the built-in remote system in the vehicle as well as with the control board for the E8 opener.
Yes, exit wands/loops work with the system. We recommend and carry the Diablo DML-9LP which can be found under our Accessories page.
At this time we only offer a wired keypad for our systems. There are other third party wireless keypads that will work with the system.
We offer additional remotes in 2 and 4 packs. You can find those on the Accessories page.
Yes. The keypads are sealed against any external elements penetrating the outer casing of the keypad.
Yes. An electromagnetic lock with a close strength of 600lbs or greater will work with the system in conjunction with a 12V NC (normally closed) circuit relay. You can find this item in our Accessories page
